2023 LCHS Tennis General Rules
*Coaches' discretion on all of the rules*
- Respect your coaches, teammates, and opponents. If you have an issue with someone or something, please tell a coach so the situation can be addressed.
- No use of cell phones or iPods during practice. Permission from coach if necessary.
- Please dress out in proper professional tennis attire: no sports bra only (shirts must be worn), jeans, or non-athletic shoe.
- Proper team uniforms for matches are required. No team uniform = not playing, no exceptions
- Come ready and prepared to participate. If you are sick or injured, do not come to practice; contact your coach, rest, and get better, if you have attended school, please come for announcements before going home.
- Please call or text your coach if you will be absent for any reason. Do not tell a third party. Three absences without contacting coach and you will be asked to leave the team.
- Missing practice and/or matches for non-school related activities will be considered an unexcused absence.
- If you miss practice the day before a match means you will sit out for the match but are expected to show up to support team.
- Absences due to school related activities or family emergencies will be considered excused. These will be evaluated on a case-by-case manner but does not guarantee you a spot for a match.
- Personal lessons must be scheduled around all team practices, matches and events. No exceptions
- Grade checks will be conducted at coach’s discretion. If you have an F, you'll need to get the grade up in order to compete.
- If you are leaving early from a practice, please let the coach know at the beginning of the practice and when you leave.
- Please stay until the end of all matches and support your teammates on match day. Exceptions will be taken on a case-by-case basis.
- Attendance of team dinners and events is expected.
- To letter as a non-top-12 senior, you must attend all varsity home matches and tournaments and as many away matches as possible and have been on the tennis team for 4 years.
- Social Media should be FUN! Here are some guidelines to keep it that way!
- Use some common sense. IF you are not sure whether a post or tweet is appropriate, then it probably is not.
- Profanity, vulgarity, and sexual references always fall into the not appropriate category.
- Resist the temptation to engage with fans or players from other schools if they are making derogatory comments online.
- Never tweet or post when you are emotional. Chances are the action will have a negative outcome.
- Be cautious when retweeting or reposting someone else’s content. Such action can appear to be an endorsement of the message, even if you are not the original author.
- Never assume that a message or post is protected from public view, even if you have the private settings turned on for you profile.
- Do not give out personal contact information to a friend or follower that you do not know, and never post that information publicly.
- If one player breaks these rules, the team will be banned for the remainder of the season on social media.
