2022 returning varsity players are placed on the ladder in the order they finished last year.
- New players are placed in order of round robin or challenges finishes below varsity players.
- Teams will be decided by February 10th at 5pm. Varsity 1-12, JV1: 13- 22, JV2: 23-32
- Varsity: All pre-season matches will be pro sets or 2 out of 3 sets, depending on what is agreed beforehand, JV: No ad, single sets (6 games, tie breaker at 6-6)
- Challenge matches are only allowed 2 spots up but within team.
- Please inform coach of challenges before they are to be played with location and time. Once season starts (March), coach will approve of challenges.
- Personal challenges are to be played outside of practice and on the weekends unless coach approves during practice challenges.
- Players must accept a challenge from players below them on the ladder and play the match before they can challenge anyone else.
- A player that has been challenged, has the right to challenge up before they have to accept a challenge from below.
- Players have one week to accept a challenge or forfeit their positions on the ladder. No excuses except illness or a note from the doctor. This must be cleared by coach.
- New players coming from another sport whose season has just concluded, or new students to the school that have missed the try-out week have one free challenge and may choose any player on the ladder, if they win they take that player’s position and everyone else moves down one place. If they lose they are placed at the bottom of the ladder.
- If player number 9 beats player number 7 on the ladder, player number 9 takes ladder position 7, number 7 moves to player number 8, 8 moves to 9 and so on. If player 9 loses to player 7 nothing changes.
- If player number 9 challenges player number 6 but in the meantime player 6 beats player 4 and moves out of reach (more than 3 positions) the match between 4 and 9 must still be played as it was scheduled in good faith.
- Regardless of the results of a challenge you may not re-challenge the same player before one week passes.
- If you have lost to the same player 2X during the season and the score was conclusive, you must move on and compete in your spot.
- Challenges will end at the discretion of the coach due to results, team unity, at least thru March...Special accommodation for winter sports athletes. Doubles ladder will continue as well at discretion.
- Line-ups for matches are coaches’ decisions.
